Working It

A few weeks ago I had to fill out a form that asked me for my occupation. I literally stared at that blank space for two straight minutes. Here’s why. First of all, I had never written I was an “Entrepreneur” before and the fact that I was about to label myself as such felt very real…and scary. Second, quite frankly the space wasn’t big enough to write my actual current occupation which would read something like “Entrepreneur/Stay at Home Parent/School Secretary/Bookkeeper.” I have been working since I was 12 years old and with the exception of a few short months where I basically quit life and tried to “find myself” by doing nothing, I have always had more than one job. Yep, I am officially addicted to the side hustle!

I’ve been a nanny, a waitress, a bartender and had countless administrative jobs. I’ve worked in hotels, at golf courses and like most people who grew up in Collingwood, have had several jobs at Blue Mountain. I’ve worked in print and digital advertising, television sales and at a law office. I’ve been a fitness and spin instructor, yoga teacher and personal chef. I’ve catered, worked at a daycare, ran summer camps and even been a telemarketer (lol for two days and I was amazing at it!) I’ve worked in a jewelry store, department store and been a hair model. I’ve had the token teenage job in fast-food, been a resume writer and head-hunter. I worked in municipal government, washed dishes and at 12 years old basically ran a babysitting empire. And now finally…Market Made Maven! Thank you so much for continuing to support Market Made dear friend, and helping me turn this former side hustle into the real deal.

Tell me, do you have a side hustle? What has been your favorite job? Or oddest…I love hearing about unique jobs 🙂
